What have I been up to, you’re wondering?

The past year has kept me pretty busy with my kids’ ever-increasing number of sports and activities and as PTA President of my daughter’s elementary school.  I did take time to take photos as often as I could, though.  As the PTA’s Yearbook advisor, I took numerous photos of activities and events throughout the past school year, which I won’t post here due to students’ privacy.  I also took photos for a local late-night talk show, The Mystery Hour, which is recorded once a month.  Many of those photos are posted on my Facebook page here.  I love watching and photographing The Mystery Hour.  It’s so much fun!

I did have several other fun jobs, too, like this Engagement session:

and eventually a wedding reception:Image

My youngest niece experienced her first Easter this year, and her family asked me to take a few photos.

I was also asked by this lovely family to capture a few family moments:

I’ve enjoyed taking sport photos this past year – both for my own kids, and for clients:_MG_8921 - Version 2

And of course, birthday parties – which I love!

So – you can see, even though I’ve neglected my blog – I haven’t been neglecting my photography!    It’s been a great year.  I’ve learned a lot, and hope to continue to improve my skills, and most importantly, to keep capturing those special moments in my family’s life – and in my clients lives.  It’s what I love to do!

My Brother’s Wedding

HI all!  I had the joy of photographing my brother’s wedding a couple weeks ago.  It was a beautiful wedding, and fun reception.  I was happy to see most of my family members there. I am now happy to have a new sister-in-law and two new nieces!  (Though, of course, they’ve been practically family for a while now).  Here are a few fun photos from the wedding and reception.

"May I have this dance?"

The "first dance" turned into a "family dance".

Busy Summer

It’s been a busy and exciting summer already in the “Moments Captured” world.  I’ve enjoyed the birthday party and wedding/reception jobs I’ve been privileged to photograph so far.  I have a family outing to shoot this weekend, a family reunion later in the month and another wedding in Aug.!  I’ve also enjoyed some personal photography moments during my kids’ dance recital, and a beautiful photo shoot at the park with my daughter.  I feel I am learning, growing and improving with each job, and I love what I do.  I hope to have some photos posted soon here and on my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Moments-Captured/212649472102044?ref=ts

I wish everyone could be so blessed to be able to do what they love.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please visit again soon.

Business Cards are in!

I designed a business card, and have already passed several out.  I’m so excited to move forward with my business.

I had a busy weekend of photographing a birthday party and a wedding.  The party was a basketball 3 on 3 challenge for an 8 year old.  There were lots of kids and family there, and many great photo ops.  The wedding was a beautiful outdoor country wedding and BBQ.  I got many great photos, and my favorite assistant, (husband), also took some great low-light shots.  I’ve got lots of editing to do over this holiday weekend.
